If the mass and radius of Jupiter are 1.9 x 〖10〗^27kg and 71 x 〖10〗^(6 )m,

Q) If the mass and radius of Jupiter are 1.9 x 〖10〗^27kg and 71 x 〖10〗^(6 )m, what will be acceleration due to gravity of Jupiter? what will be the weight of 80 kg mass Jupiter?

Ans:

Mass of Jupiter(M) = 1.9 x 〖10〗^(27 )kg

Radius of Jupiter(R) = 71 x 〖10〗^6 m

Acceleration due to gravity of Jupiter(g) = ?

Mass of object(W) = ?

Using formula,

                         g = GM/R^2

              or,  g = (6.67 x 〖10〗^(-11) x 1.9 x 〖10〗^27)/((71 x 〖10〗^(6 ))^2)

                 or, g =  25m/s^2

Again,

Weight of an object = mg

                                     = 80 x 25

                                     = 2000 N

Therefore , acceleration due to gravity of Jupiter is 25m/s^2 and weight of 80 kg mass is 2000 N.

Q) If a weightlifter can lift 100 kg on earth, how much mass can be lift on the surface of the moon?

Here,

Mass on the earth = 100 kg

Weight on the earth that can be lifted by person

                = 100 x 9.8=980N

Again,

Weight that can be lifted by the person on the moon = 980 N

Acceleration due to gravity of the moon = 1.67 m/s^2

Mass that can be lifted on the moon = W/g

                                                                  = 980/1.67

                                                                  = 586.5 kg

∴  That man can lift 586.5 kg on the moon.
