Otto Von Guericke

Otto Von Guericke was born in educated and wealthy family. He got education from lipjing University. He was a famous physicists, engineer and a philosopher. He invent an air pump. He continued his research on vacuum and the air for underwater respiration. In 1623 AD Otto Von started to study about mathematics and mechanical science. In 1631 AD he was appointed as an engineer in the Swedish army. Also from 1646 AD to 1681 AD he works as mayor of Magadeyburh and Majestrate of Brendburg. In 1681 AD brutal war started in Germany which last for 30 years. Otto Von Guericke have play vital role in the war , but his army were defeated in war. Enemy capture the Magadeyburh and badly destroy the city. About 30 thousand people loose their life. Guericke was not killed during this war. After end of war Guericke devoted for renew of the city. Government appointed him as the city mayor.  He remain in that post for 35 years. As a city mayor he have also interest in science , so he manage time for study and research. In one book of Aristotle  he have studied that complete vacuum is impossible. This statement remain as the challenges in front of him. He have learn from Galileo that air have weight. He was also well-known about the air pressure experiment by Torrie Shelly . From all the above collected information Guericke invented the Airpump in 1650 AD. From this pump vacuum can be created in higher level. Guericke utilize this Airpump in many other experiment. He demonstrate that light can pass through vacuum but sound cannot passes through vacuum. He also prove that candle cannot be burned inside vacuum and living thing cannot survive in vacuum. Guericke invent different types of vacuum machines. He made two hemispheres from copper.They exactly fit with each other. It became famous by the name of Magadeyburh hemisphere. By same hemisphere he demonstrate extreme energy of vacuum in front of Reyjunsburg king. He attach two hemisphere of copper and made one spherical ball of 14 inches radius. He plaster the jointed of two hemisphere by waxed skin. He opened small lid from sphere and join it to vacuum pump. By the help of vacuum pump he reduce the air pressure inside the spherical ball. In 1663 AD he invented a generator which can generate stabilize electric current. He have also studied about cosmology. He said that Hailey comets returns in same orbit in its continues motion. In the age of 80 years Guericke returns to Hemburg . After short return in 1668 AD ,great scientist Guericke leave this earth.
