Sir Jagdish Chandra Bose who proves that plants also have feelings!

Plant life

Sir Jagdish Chandra Bose was born in 20th November,1858 in Bengal. His childhood enjoy the Indian tradition. During that time he have studied Maha bharat and ramayan. He was deeply inspired by the idol of Maha bharat called Karna. Karna struggle for whole life to achieve the success in life , this inspire him deeply. He believed that failure is the beginner of success. While studying in St. Xavier school culcutta , he was only one village boy who came to study in that school whereas other are all British student. British student used to bully him. Among them there is one stronger student who usually physical torture Bose. When the torture became daily routine Bose no longer have tolerance. He take action against him and beat him badly and from that day no one have courage to bully him. After completing his physics study in culcutta university Bose went to Cambridge university. He complete degree and returned to india. He was appointed as the physics lecturer in presidency college. Bose was of hard working and self dependent nature. He was respected professor of his time but British used to see him with hatred. During that time Indian professor receive two third less salary as compare with the British professor. Bose was temporary professor so he received half payment. He strong opposed this kind policy. Due to this reason he wasn't paid salary for three years. At last he got victory and was paid whole salary. He was the first scientist who prove that the plants are also very sensitive like the other animals. Plants and trees can also feels the comfortable , uncomfortable, hotness, coldness, pain, light, sound and other feelings. To record the sensitivity of plants he device an instrument called krascograph. This instrument record very small plants activities by increasing it ten thousand times bigger. He became success to prove that their were several similarities between plants and animals. It was on 10 May 1901. The Royal society of London was full of lot of well known scientist of the present century. All the scientist around the world were waiting patiently to see the experiment of Bose in which he was going to prove that the plants were also sensitive like human beings. Bose take one plant and put the roots inside one bottle which contains the poison called bromide. He then connect the plant with his device and started to record the plant activities. The light produced by the plant activities were projected on the screen. At first the light oscillating like the pendulum. It became faster and then within few second the oscillation stop. The observer feels that it was like the poison given to the mouse which died after few minute of struggle. Due to the effect of poison the plant died. All the people praised his experiment. His work were praised by Paris congress of science in 1900 AD. Bose wrote to book named ' response in the living and non-living being ' in 1902 and 'the nervous mechanism of plants' in 1926 AD. He had research over the radio frequency too. He was inspired by the thesis of Oliver Los. He was known as botanist but his main stream was physics. He gave also invented wireless telegraphy. But he never get this credit. Before the patent of Marconi in 1895 AD , Bose have demonstrate the wireless Telegraph in public. He died in 23rd November, 1937 AD. He have established Bose institution in Calcutta before his death. The main purpose of this institutions was to study about the plant.
