Aristotle short life history

 


Aristotle was born on circa 384 B.C. in Stagira, a small town on northern Coast of Greece. His father's name was Nicomachus. His father served as a personal physician to king Amyntas of Macedon. He was inspired to his father's scientific work  Because he is the   physician's son, but didn't show much interest in medicine. He spent his childhood with his family. Then, at the age of 18, he went to Athens for his further education at Plato's Academy. There he stayed almost 20 years and left somewhere in 348 - 347 B.C. In 343 B.C. after the death of Hermias, Phillip the second of Macedon invited him to become the tutor of his son Alexander. Later he has chosen the head of royal academy of Macedon. As he is a tutor of Alexander, he always encouraged to him to conquer east. he returned to Athens in 335 B.C. and he  established his own school called Lyceum. For next 12 years, Aristotle organized his school as a center of research on astronomy, zoology, geography, geology, physics, anatomy and many other fields. Aristotle wrote 170 books, 47 of which still exist more than 2000 years later. Aristotle was a great philosopher. He was also a father of biology and zoology too. He covered a wide range knowledge of physics, politics, linguistics, rhetoric and so on. He breathed his last in 322 B.C. in Euboea due to natural causes at the age of 62. He said that ' Pleasure in the jobs put perfection in the work '.
