Health : Plant beverage of daily use
Beverage(drinks) can be divided into alcoholic , like beer, cider, wines , spirits and non-alcoholic, like cocoa, coffee, tea and cola etc. Non-alcoholic beverages usually act as stimulants since they contain alkaloids. Most of the familiar stimulants, non-alcoholic beverages are obtained from plants and are spread over a large area among many people. The best known beverages are tea, coffee, cocoa and cola.
Terminal tea leaves are the base for the production of tea. Above a half of the world's population consumes tea . The probable origin of tea is China. It then spread all over the world. "THEOL", the necessary part of tea provides characteristic taste and sweet smell. 'Tannin' in combination with 'pectin' and 'dextrin' in tea provide colour and strength.' Theine', an alkaloid is mainly responsible for its stimulant properties. On the basis of weight, the beans of coffee contain 3 percent caffeine( a stimulating substance). When the beans are subjected to processing , the oil and 'coffeol' - the essential part of them, give out a sweet smell. Though most of the adults in the world prefer tea, commercially coffee is more important and successful than tea.
