Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening - by Robert Frost
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
Summary:
The poet was travelling through the wood at winter night and everywhere is bright due to moonlight. After riding few miles across forest on horse, he stopped infront of the scenic sites. The natural beauties of the woods and snow caught his breath. He stood their for a while gazing deeply inside the nature. He was standing alone in a dark forest on the horseback and was deeply touched by the beauty of forest. He wish to stay there for more hour connecting with the natural beauty of forest but he can't. Because his destiny is still far beyond his reach. So with heavy heart he determined to move forward.
Although this poem witnesses about short incident in forest but it opened the deep reality and purpose of life. In our life we meet so many good friends, spend lot of beautiful moments and visit beautiful places but one day all this thing pass away. Our near one , dear one families, friends all will leave but than also we should have to continue our destiny till the last breathe.
It also give message of our goals. Sometimes we reach to beautiful place on the way towards destiny. Maybe we meet with so many beautiful people on the way towards destiny. And wishes to stop the journey on this spot. But we must be determined to reach the destiny and continue our journey till the last breathe.....
